Dr. Kashif Hussain is a Professor for Hospitality and Tourism Studies. He has over 18 years of professional experience in teaching, consultancy and research activities. He holds a Ph.D. (Educational Administration & Supervision) from Near East University, M.Sc. (Tourism Management) and B.Sc. (Tourism & Hospitality Management) from Eastern Mediterranean University from North Cyprus (Turkey). He has taught a number of subjects from Diploma to PhD levels including research methods and advance research methods that have developed several postgraduate students to complete their research work and studies. To date, he has successfully graduated 48 postgraduate students (PhDs, DBA, MBA & Master students) and currently supervising and advising many more in Malaysia and Pakistan.

Currently, he is Chairing School of Media and Communication at Taylor’s University. He has held several positions in the past such as Director for Research for faculty and Centre for Research and Innovation in Tourism, Programme Director and Associate Dean at Taylor’s University. He has been also invited to holds various external positions such as Affiliate Professorship at Superior University in Pakistan, Panel of Expert and External Auditor for National Programme Standards at Malaysian Qualifications Agency in Malaysia, Advisor and External Assessor for Quality Education and Hospitality and Tourism Programmes at East West International College and University College Sabah Foundation in Malaysia. He is also an External Evaluator for Professorial Academic Promotions at University Putra Malaysia in Malaysia. He is the former Dean for Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of UCSI University and Former President for Malaysia Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Education (MyCenTHE) for Ministry of Education in Malaysia.

He has received eminent recognition as a finest academician, receiving various appreciations and awards in teaching, research, and socio-cultural activities. He has also been recognized as a specialist in the areas of festivals, conferences and event management. Over the years, he has been consistently providing consultancy and contract-research services to several companies in North Cyprus and Malaysia namely Memduh Erdal BP&LO Ltd, Ideal Tourism Co., Convex Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre), Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau; Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak Convention Bureau, Gaining Edge etc.

His research interests are in service marketing, quality management, hospitality and tourism, consumer behavior, tourist experience, business tourism, economic impact assessment (modeling), sustainable development, innovation and strategic management.

He is the author of more than 110+ publications as journal articles, books, book chapters and international conference proceedings. His publications appear in several high impact and top tier journals e.g. The Service Industries Journal, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, Managing Service Quality, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Education and Science, EuroAsian Journal of Educational Research, Worldwide Hospitality and Tourism Themes, Quality Assurance in Education, International Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Systems, European Journal of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Education, The Economic Argument, Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, Event Management etc.

Further to above, he serves as a board member, referee and guest editor to several international journals. He is the editor for a Scopus indexed journal called Asia-Pacific Journal of Innovation in Hospitality and Tourism (APJIHT). He is also a member to several professional bodies, NOGs and Associations which have moved things towards nations building activities. He has a very wide network and upholds academic relationship around the globe besides being a well-known personality and speaker in his field of expertise as professor for hospitality and tourism studies.
